Scholarships
Degrowth California is developing a scholarship opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students exploring degrowth economics and themes. There are a growing number of individuals who are studying sustainable post-growth pathways who may not find scholarships through more traditional avenues. We want to contribute to a pipeline of change-makers championing economic systems change that prioritizes people and planet over profit.
Community-Centric Learning Opportunities
The concept of Degrowth is grounded in economic concepts that first appeared decades ago with figures like Herman Daly, but the term degrowth, and what it represents and entails, is still quite fresh in US discourse. We want to offer learning opportunities that build community and our understanding of how we can organize our economy more justly within planetary boundaries through in-person retreats and conferences.
Organize a Degrowth Coordination Team
Degrowth California is a growing community of scholars and activists and we want to support their work and initiatives across CA and the US. To best do this, we are pursuing opportunities to bring individuals onboard full-time to support work in the following areas: education, outreach, and policy research.
